What does it mean when you have anxiety and depression? I met a friend today and we discussed quite a bit about anxiety and depression and I've decided to talk a bit about it here.
Everyone experiences anxiety or depression in one way or another. To put into perspective, there are more than 300 types of anxiety disorders.
When we feel anxiety, it is actually a feeling arising of apprehension and/or fear in us. Most of the time it is a result from stress or some big setbacks previously encountered. Contrary to popular believe, mild anxiety is not serious and they can be result of issues at work, home and personal life. The problem lies when we have anxiety disorders which can escalate into panic attacks.
Depression seems to be an increasing common problem for people especially in developed countries. Life gets harder each day and for many people who fail to make ends meet or face tremendous pressure at work or home suffer from this. Depression actually is a state of mind and is more difficult to treat than anxiety problems.
